Approximate Conditions: very warm, sunny and windy –later turned to thunderstorms

Princess Point–whole trail

  • Canada Goose
  • Mallard
  • Domestic Goose (thought it was the Ross’ Goose and I got so excited–but a nice lady sat me down and showed me that it was very much a domestic goose that had got away from its owners and was now happily scaring away all the neighbourhood pets)
  • Mute Swan
  • Wood Duck (1 male and 1 female in their LOVELY plumage)
  • Greater Scaup
  • Lesser Scaup
  • Bufflehead
  • Ruddy Duck (saw them the day before as well –they were there in hundreds!!)
  • Belted Kingfisher (seen the day before)
  • Double-crested Cormorant
  • Turkey Vulture
  • Osprey (lovely sight–eating its fish on a dead tree)
